You Never Know....

I was talking to a friend on the phone last night about relationships.
My friend felt that it's important to get to know a person fully before getting together with that person so you know what you're getting yourself into and you're not wasting anyone's time.

Unfortunately, I feel that it's impossible to ever know a person fully till you get together with that person.
I really wish I could believe my friend's theory cos' then life would be so much simpler, but the reality is, people will never show their true selfs till they know that they've got you firm in their grip. As friends, people will only show that much about themselves. It's only when you live together and spend every single moment with that person, then you'll know the truth about who she/he really is and how they tick.

Hence, relationships really is about taking the jump. Taking the risk that the person you are attracted to is truly themselves when they are around you. Relationships are about putting your heart in that person's hand and waiting to see if he/she will hold it and care for it, or smash it and throw it away.

Though sometimes, the perks of being in a relationship doesn't sound very appealing, at the end of the day, loving someone is truly an uplifting experience and it can be worth taking all that risk involved.
